§ 00 Why Tembo

Tembo(n.)elephant. Swahili.A symbol of strength, memory, and community.

Great builders are already here.We help grow the ecosystem around them.

We're a small, community-led program for early builders across Africa. Working engineers share the shape of a real system — how it fits together, how to keep learning together — and stay in touch long after the cohort ends.

§ 01 What we do

A community,
not a course.

Community

Not a course. A working group.

Each cohort is a small group learning side-by-side while building real things. The community is the product — the curriculum is a scaffold toward building on your own.

Mentorship

You don't do this alone.

Working engineers build alongside each cohort and make the shape of a real system easier to see. Accountability over assignments.

Continuity

We stay in touch.

Alumni stay in the loop after the cohort ends. We make it easy to reconnect when life pulls someone away. Some come back as mentors.

§ 02 Values as commitments

Abstract nouns are easy. These are the five things we'll actually put in writing.

  • COMMUNITY

Less a program, more a group of people building together.

  • PHILOSOPHY

We teach how to see a system, not a syllabus to memorize.

  • EQUITY

No degree required. English required — fluency isn't.

  • CONTINUITY

We stay in touch after the cohort. We make it easy to reconnect when life pulls someone away.

  • HONESTY

Two students in fintech internships so far. No job placements yet — we'll tell you when there are.
